Same Game Multi betting

A Same Game Multi is a special type of bet that allows you to combine different single bets on the same match into one multi bet. As with multi bets, the odds accumulate with each leg, meaning that the payout can be substantial. Until recently, it was not possible to combine bets from the same match into the one multi bet.

Sportsbet is responsible for pioneering the Same Game Multi. It is expected to catch on though, with other online betting companies tipped to offer the sports betting product shortly.

Example of a same game multi

Same Game Multi bets are not available on every sports market. They are though regularly offered on AFL, NRL, NBA and NFL matches. We take a look at an example from an AFL match:

Same Game Multi betting example

In a Same Game Multi, all legs of the multi bet must come from the same event. In this case, we used an AFL match between Hawthorn and the Sydney Swans. The first selection is a head to head bet where we have selected Hawthorn to win at $1.80. For the 2nd leg, we have selected Tom Mitchell in the most disposals market at the fixed odds of $2.25; lastly, we have chosen Luke Breust to score the first goal at odds of $9.00. The combined price of this same game multi bet is $36.45.

Pro tip: Same Game Multi’s are calculated differently

The odds for Same Game Multi bets are far less appealing than regular fixed bets. The bookmaker takes a higher margin due to the unique nature of the combination bet, as some bet combinations are related.

Bookmakers that offer Same Game Multi

Currently, only Sportsbet offers the Same Game Multi betting product; however, owing to its popularity, we expect this to change soon.

Same Game Multi rules

Same Game Multi bets come with some restrictions. It cannot be used with any bonuses and free bets. Also, if one leg is voided, the bet stake is refunded.
